Is Forex Open 24 Hours?

In stockmarket they only open like 6 hours per day, we exchange stocks in one market. I don't understand with Forex, how they process, are the exchanges of selling and buying transferable?Sorry, I might using wrong words, but I hope you can grasp what I mean and possibly answer beyond my question.10 pts. for good or detailed answer

Oh yeah, it is open 24 hours all right. Thank God its only for 5 days. The best way to think of the foreign exchange market is to think of the local money changer that you go to change foreign currencies when you go for holiday. Its unlike shares, shares basically mean a certificate of ownership in a company. Foreign exchange is basically an exchange of one currency with another. works 24 hours. 5.5 days a week. selling and buying is transferable third party payment of funds.

• The Forex market is open 24hrs on buisness days (Mon-Fri) and closed sat-sunday.

• There is no waiting for an opening bell.
• It is a 24-hour, continuous currency exchange that never closes (normal dealing hours of operation are Sunday 5:15 pm through Friday 4 pm Eastern standard time), you can trade whenever you want: morning, noon or night.
